Canadian Patient Suffering from BPH, Undergoes a Urological Minimally Invasive Interventional Procedure
Recently, the Urological Surgery Department of our hospital received a 74 years old Canadian patient who complained of urinary incontinence and was diagnosed with Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The patient was under Dr. Wang Xiangwei, the Director of the Urological Surgery Department. After a thorough discussion about the treatment, he agreed to undergo prostatic artery embolization (PAE), minimally invasive surgery on the 5th of November. On the day of the operation, Director Wang Xiangwei invited colleagues from the International Medical Administration to the inpatient ward to help communicate with the patient.
The patient had a joyful conversation with the members of the International Medical Administration and informed them that it’s been 23 years since he settled down in Shenzhen with his wife. He used to work in the field of international trade and has retired now. Since feeling unwell, he has visited several hospitals and well-known clinics, but with no beneficial effect. However, after some research online, he learned about Director Wang Xiangwei's clinical success in treating BPH. Director Wang Xiangwei jointly with Dr.Tang Jun, director of the Intervention department of Southern University of Science and Technology Hospital, has treated several BPH patients using a minimally invasive surgical approach with high clinical success. To relieve the patient's anxiety, Dr. Atik from the International Medical Administration entered the operating room to comfort the patient and told him that the operation was in good condition. The patient has successfully recovered from the procedure and was happily discharged from the hospital within two days.
