Rugby loving Irish national’s clinical consultation at ECC

Mr.Conor (named changed), a 25-year-old Irish national, recently made an appointment at ECC (Expert Clinic & Consultation) for clinical consultation with Dr. Zhu Jinyu (Orthopaedic Department, Joint Surgery Expert). Mr.Conor is a teacher by profession at an international school and has been working in Shenzhen for the past one and half years. Mr.Conor is a sports enthusiast and loves to play rugby in his spare time. During the National Day holidays, while enjoying playing rugby with his friends, he collided and injured his right knee. He tried to take care of the injury at home, but as days passed and he noticed no improvement in his knee function and had trouble walking. So, he finally decided to come to our hospital for checking.
Mr.Conor was greeted at ECC by Dr. Zhu Jinyu, a Joint Surgery Expert in the Orthopaedic Surgery department, and Dr.Shaikh Atik Badshah of International Medical Administration. Mr.Conor complained of right knee pain, stiffness, and swelling for the past 2 days and had trouble walking.
Dr. Zhu Jinyu, after reviewing the patient’s medical history, performing a physical examination of his knee and directed him to undergo MRI to analyze the extent of injury to knee ligaments and meniscus. After viewing the MRI, Dr. Zhu Jinyu diagnosed the patient with synovitis, minimal edema of the lateral tibial plateau, discoid lateral meniscus, lateral meniscal tear. Dr. Zhu Jinyu recommended the patient undergo the minimally invasive arthroscopic procedure to repair the meniscal tear. However, the patient was hesitant and would need time to think over the surgical option and choose to undergo conservative treatment. Dr.Shaikh Atik Badshah accompanied the patient during his entire consultation process as well as MRI imaging and explained to the patient about the doctor’s diagnosis and treatment opinion.
Mr.Conor was satisfied with the ECC consultation process and exchanged contact information with the doctors for future visits and consultations.
