2019年12月28日，南方科技大学医院举行全面建设启动典礼，标志着区校合作进入新的阶段。启动典礼上，医院的“国际骨科部(IOC)”、“南方科技大学粤港澳智能与数字外科创新中心”也正式揭牌成立。医院全职引进了由牛津大学医学院和欧洲脊柱学会的10位国际权威专家组成的国际顶尖医疗团队，以新思维、新技术造福深圳市民。

On December 28, 2019, Southern University of Science and Technology Hospital held a comprehensive construction ceremony, marking a new stage of cooperation between Nanshan District and Southern University of Science and Technology. At the launching ceremony, International Orthopaedic Center (IOC) and Intelligent and Digital Surgery Innovation Center of SUSTech were officially inaugurated. The hospital has introduced an internationally top-ranking medical team composed of 10 authoritative experts from Oxford University Medical School and European Spine Society, which would benefit Shenzhen citizens of new thinking and technology.

Southern University of Science and Technology Hospital, located on the bank of Xili Lake and beside Shigu Mountain, is a tertiary comprehensive public hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, personnel training and international exchanges. It is invested by Nanshan District Government and operated and managed by Southern University of Science and Technology of China.
