【通讯员：Shaikh Atik Badshah,陈霖霖】A Foreign crew member (Ukraine national)of a Cargo ship was taken to the emergency department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Southern University of Science and Technology by 119 with severe injuries to his fingers and then was referred to the orthopedic surgery department for surgical management. The patient underwent an emergency operation for the reconstruction of his injured fingertips.

        As the Foreign crew member could not speak Chinese, Shaikh Atik Badshah of IMA（International Medical Administration) visited the patient in quarantine and explained the preoperative procedure, surgical plan, surgery consent, and the quarantine rules and hospital regulations.  Dr. Zhao Dongsheng, a Microvascular specialist surgeon, and Dr. Zhong Ke Ming performed the emergency operation of fingertip reconstruction using the Cross-Flap technique. Now the foreign patient is currently out of quarantine, transferred to the regular ward and recovering well.
